Charles Vincent Imhoff, age 85, of Edwardsville, Illinois died at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Edwardsville.

Charles was born July 12, 1928, in Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of the late Ernest & Pearlene (Cagle) Imhoff.
He is survived by a sister, Agnes Pingolt of Staunton, Illinois; two brothers, Edgar Imhoff and Michael Imhoff; 5 nephews; and 5 nieces.
Charles graduated from Murphysboro High School in May 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948 and received the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Japan Occupation Medal. In 1948, he enrolled in New Mexico School of Mines and began exploring and prospecting out West until the mid-1950's. Later after his mining explorations he received a B.A. degree from Miliken University in Decatur, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro.
