Dellora "Dee" Chandler Asselmeier, age 93, passed away peacefully at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Dellora worked for Stahley Cartage in Edwardsville and with her sister, Dorothy, in her tax service for many years.
She was born January 25, 1921, in Edwardsville the daughter of the late Frank Taylor & Elvira Josephine (Stone) Chandler.
She married Harold Asselmeier on September 12, 1946, in Henderson, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1999.
Dellora is survived by a son, William L. Houba and his wife Mary of Edwardsville; 2 grandsons, William R. Houba & his wife Chantel and Mark S. Houba & his wife Robin, all of Edwardsville; 5 great grandchildren, Alicia Brower & husband Eric of Moro, Lauren Houba of Wood River, Tanner Houba of Edwardville, Matthew Houba of Glen Carbon and Katelyn Houba of Edwardsville. She has 1 great great grandson, Brayden Martin and 1 special niece, Betty Jarzombek & husband Bob of Edwardsville.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jim, Virgil, & Bud Chandler and 3 sisters, Thelma Hall, Dorothy Culpepper, and Gertrude Chandler.
Dellora was a member of Eden United Church of Christ where she attended Circle #3. She loved to read, garden, take care of grandchildren, travel, and watch the St. Louis Cardinals.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Eden United Church of Christ, Stepping to Horizon Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
