Larry Lowe Obituary
He was born on December 22, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of the late Harry D. & Norma E. (White) Lowe.
Early in his career, Dr. "Doc" Lowe practiced in Clinton, Illinois and Decatur, Illinois. He later settled in Belleville, where he practiced until his retirement in 2005.
Larry married Sherry Baker on January 12, 1999, in Puerto Rico. She survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Megan Millner & husband John of Lombard, Illinois; one son, Ryan Lowe of DeKalb, Illinois; one step daughter, Angela Obrecht of Zeigler, Illinois; one step son, JR Obrecht & wife Erika of Edwardsville; one brother, James Lowe & wife Libby of Alpharetta, Georgia; three step grand children, one step great grandson, several nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lowe and by one sister, Laura Stone.
Larry graduated from the University of Illinois in 1974, and then went on to graduate from the SIUE Dental School in 1977. Doc was a member of Beta Theta Pi and the American Dental Association. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends at his house in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. One of his favorite things to do was chilling with his dog and best friend, Shugg. Doc will be remembered by loved ones as a devoted husband, father and friend.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with James Harper officiating.
He will be cremated according to his wishes and a burial will be held at a later date at the Linwood Cemetery in Pana, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to Family Hospice of Belleville.

I just found out about Larry. We went to Pana High School together. He always had a laugh I will always remember. So sorry and you and your family will be in my prayers.

Sherry, Megan, Ryan, and family. We learned of Doc's passing early this morning; which just happened to be Thanksgiving morning. As you"re aware, Patty worked with Doc almost ten years until he retired. She has always said he was the best doctor she every worked for, and she said it again this morning. Our day was bittersweet after learning Doc was gone. His larger than life laugh, and infectious personality was heartwarming. We feel that to know him was to love him. No matter the success Doc achieved, underneath it all he remained a small town boy from Pana. Affable, personable, approachable, and just full of life. So although we are deeply saddened at your loss, we are grateful to have known Doc, and through him all of you. He made no secret of the love he had for his family. You guys meant the world to him. May God wrap you in His loving grace to see you through this difficult time. The John & Patty Richardson family.
