Donald W. Voyles, age 83, of Edwardsville, died at 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1927, in Alhambra, the son of the late William and Amanda Richter Voyles.
He married Sharol H. Isenberg on July 8, 1950, in Troy. She survives.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Diane Schwab of Chatham, Linda Riggs of Belleville, Julie (Daniel) Johnson of Pana and Curtis Voyles of Edwardsville; sisters, Virginia Shumar of Pittsburg, Pa., and Mina Jean Moore of Shaker Heights, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryan Wolf, Christopher Johnson, Brittany Johnson and Tyler Voyles; cousin, Dorothy Solter of Alhambra; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Gabriel Johnson.
Mr. Voyles was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was an equipment specialist for the U.S. Army Troop Support Command for 32 years. He retired in 1983.
He loved to fish.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday, April 15, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the funeral home, with Dr. John C. Hembruch officiating.
Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.
