Lillie D. Huddleston, 82, received eternal rest and peace at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at her home with her family at her side. She was born Aug. 16, 1929 in Camden, Miss., the daughter of Solomon Robinson and Ethel (Nichols) Day.

Lillie graduated from Camden Street High School in Camden. She was married to Edward Huddleston Sr. on Sept. 21, 1954. He preceded her death on Feb. 12, 2006.
She was an active member of First Community Baptist Church in Royal Lakes, Ill., where she served on the Mother's Board. She was employed in the nursing field.?
She is survived by five sons, Harry J. (Shanika) Huddleston of Godfrey, Ill., Robert L. (Phyllis) Huddleston of Spring, Texas, Parkeoka Huddleston of Royal Lakes, Ill., Edward Huddleston Jr. of Mishwaka, Ind., and Stanley (Margie) Huddleston of Edwardsville, Ill.; three daughters, Lena M. Stockard of Alton, Ill., Willene (Donald) Robertson of Maryland Heights, Mo. and Gloria A. Huddleston of St. Ann, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Maurice (Ellie) Day of Milwaukee, Wis.; five sisters, Nancy D. Shine of Durant, Miss., Ethel Hightower, Catherine Fischer, Canzinetta "Julie" Webb, Inez D. Day, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Mary L. Huddleston and Elease Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Luke Robinson, Thomas Day and John Day; and a sister, Mardessia "Maude" Fletcher.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at First Community Baptist Church in Royal Lakes, Ill., with Minister Harry Huddleston officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Cathy M. Williams and Sons Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
