Charles David Karidis, age 23 of Glen Carbon, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

He was born Sept. 8, 1980, in Maryville, the son of Kari Gullicksrud. She survives in Glen Carbon.
Also surviving are one brother: Niko Karidis of Glen Carbon; maternal grandparents Charles and Elra "Boots" Gullicksrud of Glen Carbon; two aunts: Kierstyn Smedes, and husband Michael, of Austin, Texas, and Ketra Cross, and husband Michael, of Edwardsville; one uncle: Kyle Gullicksrud of Glen Carbon; cousins Olivia and Ty Smedes, Brynn, Teryn and Ryan Cross and his beloved pit bull Nala.
He was a member of the Twin Bridges Hockey Club and the Edwardsville High School Hockey Club.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at First Baptist Church Maryville.
Funeral services will be at the church at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, with the Rev. Tom Hufty officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Edwardsville.
