Melvin Neal Gallas

SAN ANGELO Melvin Neal Gallas passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. He was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Orient, Texas. He married Jessie Cook on May 10, 1957, and had two children, Terry (Buddy) Gallas and Saundra Gallas Midkiff. He was a very kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed being with family and attending Brother Jim Wilkerson's Bible study. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Emil Gallas and Louise Kiesling Gallas; wife of 52 years Jessie Cook Gallas; son Terry Gallas; brother Clinton Gallas; and four sisters, Ellen Elkins, Edna Rice, Nelda Riddle and Mary Gallas. Melvin is survived by his daughter, Saundra Midkiff, her husband, Steven; three granddaughters, LaDonna Davis and husband Doug, Christy Johnson and husband Brooks and Jennifer Parker; seven great-grandchildren, Dalton, Dylan and Dustyn Davis, Graylyn Johnson and Payton, Hayden and Evan Parker; one brother, Leroy Gallas; two sisters, Lenora Reid and AlmaLene Dickson; and many other loving family members and friends. The family welcomes you to visit Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 W. Beauregard Ave., in San Angelo and to join them for a graveside service in Miles Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, with a reception afterwards at Weatherby Hall, 109 W. 1st St., in Miles, Texas.
