SAN ANGELO The air in Heaven is fresh, pure and clean. Garaland Lee Eggleston left this earth on Nov. 16, 2012, to smell the roses in Heaven. He lived life to the fullest and fought the good fight. Toward the end of his high school days, he was given the opportunity to run a small burger drive in called the Pig Hip, a hopping place at that time. It was a sign of things to come for the rest of his life. It was working at the Pig Hip where he met the apple of his eye, Janiece McDaniel. Soon after a time of courtship they were married on June 22, 1955, in Cheyenne, Okla. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage. They started their family life in Pampa, Texas. These included the Reagan County Little league, All Sports Booster club, Reagan County 4-H and many others. He loved sharing his knowledge of business with others. He would never hesitate to give his opinion on how to do it right. His greatest passion was to entertain in this way and won many tournaments. Garaland had even won a match against noted gambler Amarillo Slim and many other known celebrities. Just heard of Garaland's passing. Was sad to read that Jan and Gerald also have passed. We lost my dad back in July so I feel your pain. It's been years but that doesn't make the memories of the Eggleston family any less treasured.
Love and hugs.
