SAN ANGELO Andrea Benividez DeHoyos went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13, 2013. Visitation will be held all day Sunday and Monday, June 16 and 17, at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, at Shaffer Funeral Home's Pioneer Chapel. Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Carlsbad with interment to follow in the Grape Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek. Andrea Benividez DeHoyos was born on Nov. 29, 1938, to Cruz and Rafiela Benividez in Luling, Texas. Andrea married the love of her life Benito DeHoyos in 1955. Together they raised their four sons and one daughter. Andrea was a hard working woman her entire life. She worked for the San Angelo State School for 23 years in the laundry department where she made many friends. Her work ethic was undeniable. Andrea was known to be a very caring and loving person to her family and friends. She would always offer a helping hand to anyone in need even if she didn't know you. Her home was open to everyone. Andrea enjoyed the years with Ben and took care of him to his death bed. Andrea was a strong woman who survived many hardships. She instilled her strength into her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her laughter was contagious. She was a beautiful woman who enjoyed life. She loved to tell people how many grandchildren and great grandchildren she had. She was proud of her large family and always welcomed a visit from them or anyone who wanted to visit. She loved taking care of people and animals, and was very proud of her beautiful roses that she grew. She was preceeded in death by her mother and father; infant brother; sister; husband Benito Dehoyos; son Ismael Trellas, daughter Maria Graves; and granddaughter Letisha Tapia. Andrea is survived by her sister, Dominga Negrete; sister-in-law, Dominga Lange; children Santos Hopper, Mario DeHoyos and wife Jennifer and Joe DeHoyos; grandchildren Cindy Lewis and husband Clay, Freddie Graves and wife Jessica, Brandy Vann and husband Chad, Ronnie "Cooter" Graves and wife Misty, Jessica Brown, Alex Graves, LaToya Ramirez and husband Hector, Christopher Graves, Merissa McCullom and husband Brian, Billie Graves, Dezeraye DeHoyos, Mario "Bubba" DeHoyos and spouse Leanne, Kylie Brazeal and Haley Brazeal. Andrea had 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. There are no words to describe how much Andrea will be missed by her family. She was the world to her family. "Rest in peace our loving mother, grandmother, Nana and friend-our hearts will never be fully mended until we meet again. We rest a little easier knowing that our loved ones who left before you are now holding you tight and showering you with kisses." Joe says, "I want to hold you."
