SAN ANGELO Clyde Walden passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. A memorial will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Crossroad Assembly of God, 301 N. Marie St. with Pastor Corey Searl and Steve Hamm officiating. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way. Clyde was born to Lucille and Clyde Walden, July 10, 1941. He attended Central High and Angelo State University. He was a self-taught architect and built many beautiful homes around the San Angelo area. He recently worked with Habitat for Humanity, Area Agency on Aging and also Rebuilding Together San Angelo. Clyde was awarded the Adult Protective Services Honors Award for his professional assistance in providing home modifications for disabled adults. He was always ready and willing to make a home safer for the elderly citizens of Tom Green County. He also enjoyed dabbling in art. Clyde led an exciting life and he will be remembered for the ways he helped others. He was a very giving man who will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sherry Reed. Clyde accepted Jesus as his Savior before his "Home Going" and that gives us our greatest joy and comfort at this time. We would like to thank HOSA, Park Plaza, Dr. Chang and Dr. Prieto for their genuine care. Also special thanks to all those who remained at his side until his passing: his dear cousin, F.P. Groshann and friends Jim McDougal, Skipper Gastin, Terry Salling, Linda Shuemaker, Phil Whitsitt and Shellie for all their prayers and support.
