
SAN ANGELO Dorothy Fisher Talamantes passed from this earth peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 27, 1924, in Rowena, Texas, to Christina Jansa Fisher and Alfred Alvin Fisher. She moved to San Angelo, Texas, in 1942. She married Ruben R. Talamantes on Feb. 14, 1952, they were married for 60 years. She is survived by her husband, Ruben R.; and five children, Carol E. Cruz and fiancee Warren Lange, Catherine L. Gomez, Dorothy and George Valadez, Elaine and Benny Cox and Ruben W. Talamantes; six grandchildren, Courtney Gomez, Lindsey Gomez, Terence Holguin, Kristin and Richard Carrasco, Natasha Cox and Bryce Cox; and four great-grandchildren, Brian Minjarez and Kailee Gomez, Ruben Conner Hernandez and Elija Carrasco. She is also survived by one brother, Alton Alfred Fisher of Rowena, Texas; three stepgrandchildren, Dustin, Kendrick and Heath Lange; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She attended school in Rowena at St. Joseph's Catholic School. She was a stay-at-home mom. She attended many of her grandchildren's functions. She was an excellent cook and her talents always showed, especially when we had spur of the moment get-togethers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Samuel and Isabel Talamantes; brothers-in-law Joel Talamantes and Leonard Talamantes; sisters-in-law Mary Fisher, Mary Talamantes and Alicia Talamantes; a son-in-law, John E. Cruz; as well as nephews Sam Fisher and Samuel Talamantes. Pallbearers will be David Jacobo, Gabriel Alvarado, Richard Carrasco, Heath Lange, Terence Holguin and George Valadez. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson, Brian Minjarez, nephews Alan Fisher, Glen Fisher, Frank Fisher, Tony Talamantes, Rudy Talamantes, Joel Talamantes and Leonard Talamantes.
