KERRVILLE Harold Seefeldt left this earth in the hands of Jesus to go live with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the age of 91. He was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Houston, Texas, the son of Harold C. Seefeldt and Mintie Roscoe Taylor. Harold grew up in Fort Worth and Brinkley, Ark. His father was the pastor of First Baptist Church in Brinkley, where Harold graduated from high school in 1940. After attending Ouachita College in Arkansas, he transferred to Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) in Abilene, Texas, in 1941 to play in the HSU Cowboy Band. Harold joined the USMC Reserve in 1942. While at HSU, he met Freda Wimberly and they were married in December 1944, in Abilene, Texas. He entered HSU in Fall 1946, and graduated in May 1947. In 1961, the family moved to San Angelo where Harold became personnel director and purchasing agent for the City of San Angelo. He retired in 1984. Harold continued to be active in music organizations, playing the tuba in First Baptist Church orchestras, San Angelo Community Band and Texas Blas-Musik Band. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club for 50 years. Harold loved his Lord Jesus, his wife of over 68 years, his family and his tuba. Harold is survived by his wife, Freda; two daughters, two sons, eight grandchildren and many great-grandkids. They are Diana Jo and Tom Nardecchia, Jill and Race Skaggs, John and Janice Seefeldt, Jack and Jo Ann Seefeldt, Gary and Liz Charlton, Mike and Christy Frantz, Peter Seefeldt, Justin and Laurie Matthews, Michael and Stephanie Seefeldt, Joshua and Sarah Seefeldt, Jason and Jacquelyn Cunningham, Wade Skaggs; and many great?grandchildren. His sister, Vernelle Seefeldt Rose, and husband Victor of Shreveport, La., also survive him. Memorials may be made to Harold and Freda Wimberly Seefeldt Tuba Endowed Scholarship, care of the Cowboy Band Foundation, Hardin-Simmons University, Box 15220, Abilene, TX 79698. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Kerrville, Texas, officiated by Pastor John Hiddema and the Rev. James Ennis.
