Irene Kieschnick Wuensche

BRADY Irene (Kieschnick) Wuensche, 92, of Brady, Texas, and formerly of San Angelo, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, in Brady. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in San Angelo, with service immediately following at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Lawnhaven Memorial Garden in San Angelo. Irene was born on Feb. 11, 1921, in Vernon, Texas, to Arthur Kieschnick and Lydia (Hildebrandt) Kieschnick. She married Albert Herman Wuensche on Jan. 1, 1941, in Wilson, Texas. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in San Angelo, Texas. Irene's faith was a very important part of her life and she took the role of pastor's wife to heart. She was a supporting force in Albert's 35-year career as pastor in such places as South Dakota and Michigan; and several towns in Texas, San Angelo, Hamilton, Ballinger, Kingsville, Menard and Eden. Irene was very involved with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and always took time to visit with and care for the sick. She was also a longtime Sunday school teacher, a talented folk art painter and enjoyed gardening and cooking. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; one daughter, Susan Elaine Slay; and one son-in-law, Fred Slay. Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Talkmitt of Slaton, Texas, and Agnes Wuensche of Wilson, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Francis Holden and husband Doug of Colleyville, Texas, and Leona Wied of Wilson, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
