JUNCTION John Henry Ball Jr., 77, of Junction, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, May 15, 2014, in Hill Country Care Center in Junction. John was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Runnels County to John H. Ball Sr. and Janie Rampey Ball. He married Dolores Poe on April 11, 1980, in Junction. John moved to Junction when he was in third grade and attended Junction schools until his graduation from Junction High School in 1955. He attended the University of Texas for a while, but ultimately received his bachelor's degree from Sul Ross University. John was a junior high math teacher and taught in many areas including, El Paso, Alaska, Coleman and Junction. After his retirement from education he worked at the Junction National Bank for 10 years. John's hobbies included fishing, hunting, more fishing and the occasional poker game. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Dolores Ball of Junction; daughter Mindy Supak and husband Rudy of Smithville; grandchildren Hollie Henry and husband Sherman of Brenham, Dalton Vann of Smithville, Emilie Supak of Bellville and Rudy Supak III of Smithville; brother-in-law Harold Sanders of Iraan; nieces Jan Bruce of San Angelo and Sherry Sanders of Midland; nephews James Sanders of Radcliff, Kentucky, and Ross Sanders of Midland; numerous great-grand-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Hagood River Place, 377 and S. 20th Street, across from the Junction City Cemetery. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair and framed photos of John to share on the remembrance table. Casual outdoor attire is recommended.
