SAN ANGELO Robert W. "Bob" Patteson passed peacefully from this earth on Dec. 20, 2013. Bob was born July 4, 1935, to Robert and Sally Patteson in Midland, Texas. Bob graduated from Midland High School and then went on to earn a Petroleum Engineering degree from the University of Texas. Bob then returned to Midland and worked at the Midland National Bank in the Oil and Gas Department. After a few years, Bob worked for himself as a Petroleum Engineer, and was involved in the discovery of many wells in the Permian Basin over the years. Bob married Sheila Reel on July 4, 1975, in Midland, Texas. For the past 20 years Bob and Sheila lived and worked on their Bronte ranch, which had been in Bob's family for over 100 years. There were many days when you would see both of them on their bulldozers, clearing juniper and mesquite. Bob is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Midland. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Rose. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Reel Patteson; two nieces, Julie McCully and Amanda Delk; and one nephew, Vance Rose. His family would like to thank the staff of Shannon Hospital and The Regency House for taking such good care of Bob.
