ARLINGTON Anna S. Blissit, 92, was called home by the Lord Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, after a short illness at home. Funeral service is at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with the Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Interment is at 11:30 a.m. Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane C. Visitation is from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Anna was born Aug. 27, 1921, in Pittsburg, Pa. She attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, San Antonio Junior College and the University of Texas at Austin. She married William N. Blissit in Sinton, Texas, Nov. 16, 1947. She loved the Lord and over the years she taught Sunday school to both children and adults. She also taught a group Bible study on Wednesday evenings in the home of a parishioner for many years, was active in the Episcopal Renewal Ministries, the Aglow Women's Fellowship and the Order of St. Luke. She read and studied the Bible daily. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents; brother Robert; and sister-in-law Catherine. Anna is survived by son Mike and wife Candace Sue; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Deborah Ruth and Andrew; and four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Sierra, Jasmine and Sarah Beth.
