SAN ANGELO Barbara Jean Rose, 72, went to join her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. Visitation will be held all day Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the funeral home with the family present from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to receive visitors. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in Shaffer Funeral Home's Pioneer Chapel in Grape Creek, officiated by the Rev. Art Taylor. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek. Barbara was born on March 3, 1940, to Clifford and Molly (Birchfield) Edwards in Birch Tree, Mo. She moved to San Angelo in 1982, and worked at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center in Carlsbad in the cafeteria until her retirement. Barbara's most important thing in life was her family. Her children and grandchildren were her world! She loved each of them unconditionally and without fault. No matter what they had going on, they could always talk to Mom and share their heart. She would help out and give loving advice without ever butting in or judging. Her family could always count on her being there for them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Rose; her parents; and one brother, Dennis Ford. Barbara is survived by her sons, Douglas Dupre and wife Pam of Water Valley and Bobby Masavage of Hawley; daughters Patricia Arrington and Mary Posey and husband Jimmy, both of San Angelo; brothers Jerry Ford and wife Shirley of Corpus Christi and Duane Edwards of Springfield, Mo.; 15 grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Kasey, Alison, Jamie, Nicholas, Zane, Shelby, Michael, Jessy, Ambrose, Kevin, Morgan, Emily and Hannah; and three great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Interim Hospice for the loving care and support given to our Mother and family.
The Guest Book is expired.
