SAN ANGELO Deborah Gayle Anderson passed away in Christ Jesus on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. She was born in Ballinger, Texas, March 16, 1951. Her parents were Roy Smith Jr. and Lena Mae Smith. She was raised in a rural setting on the outskirts of Ballinger. As a child she loved animals and loved singing. She was involved in band and choir. She wanted to be a music teacher. As she got older she loved and worked with children. She was faithful to her church. She worked and taught Sunday school at the Avenue B Church of Christ. She married Daniel Anderson Aug. 10, 1974. She worked in several area schools and especially enjoyed her work at Cornerstone Christian School. Her greatest accomplishments have yet been realized. In all the years that she worked at Cornerstone she shared the Gospel with many. Some have put on Christ in baptism and others have had the window opened for their future salvation. She worked in a loving and compassionate way. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her brother, Dale Smith of Ballinger; her husband, Daniel Anderson of San Angelo; her daughter, Amiee and husband Frank Galindo of San Angelo; her son, Jacob Anderson of San Angelo; a grandson, Brayden Anderson of San Angelo; one aunt, Marilyn Smith of Canon City, Colo.; as well as five nieces and two nephews; three great-nephews and three great-nieces; and a host of first and second cousins as far away as Colorado and Illinois. Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Johnson's Funeral Home. A celebration of Deborah's life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
