Earline Reed Earhart

SAN ANGELO Mrs. Phillip B. Earhart, the former Earline Reed, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Dec. 4, 2010. Mrs. Earhart was born on Dec. 5, 1914, in Jackson Parish, La. to Mr. and Mrs. James Martin Reed. She was the youngest of ten children. She was married to Phillip Bascom Earhart on Aug. 9, 1941, in San Angelo, Texas. Mr. Earhart preceded her in death. Mrs. Earhart is preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Ann Earhart. She is survived by Russell Reed and wife Kristie and their son Bobbie and wife Danica; nephew Jim Reed; and nieces Ruthelma Shepard and Fran Lashlee. Mrs. Earhart was an honorary graduate of San Angelo Central High School and Angelo State University. She completed a course for Medical Record Science from Incarnate which earned her the right to use the initials RRA, (Registered Record Administrator.) Mrs. Earhart was a member of both State and National Health Information Management Associations and was on the list of Consultants for the Texas Health Information Management Association. Mrs. Earhart has been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1932, and a member of the Sanctuary Choir since 1954. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Philharmonic Society, the San Angelo Literary Review Club and is a Life Member of the National Federation of Music Clubs where she held a State District Office. She was a Patron of the San Angelo Symphony. Mrs. Earhart retired from St. John's Hospital in April of 1986, after 38 years as Medical Record Administrator and Assistant Vice-President. She served as Administrative Assistant over Medical Records. She served as Consultant over for the Ballinger Memorial Hospital and Baptist Memorial Center. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at First Baptist Church of San Angelo, Texas, with Dr. Mark Bumpus officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
