Emilia Kinsley Obituary

SAN ANGELO Emilia Alice Hanz Kinsley, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, with the family present from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at the First Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow in Rowena, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way. Emilia was born in San Angelo, Texas, on Aug. 27, 1940, to Emil and Alice Hanz. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School with honors in 1958, and attended Angelo State University. She met the love of her life, Daniel Lee Kinsley, and they were married for 53 wonderful years. Together they raised three daughters and one special son (grandson). Emilia worked for GTE for 10 years and also worked for San Angelo State School. She loved singing and playing the piano. Emilia was a devoted wife and mother. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Alice Hanz. Emilia is survived by husband Daniel Lee Kinsley of San Angelo; daughters Mary Van Zandt of San Angelo, Tina Montez and husband Willie of Wall, Danetta Hedrick and fiancee Kevin Hoefer of Gladewater, Texas; special son, Daniel Van Zandt of San Antonio; grandchildren Amber Lewis, Caleb and Michaela Montez, Haley, Hannah and Holden Hedrick; and eight great-grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Medway Home Health, VistaCare Hospice and Senior Care Center. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Emilia was a wonderful person. I called her every so often for Dare to Care. I always loved talking to her. I've missed her at church. I'm going to miss her very, very much. To the family: may God's presence & love surround you in your time of sadness. I'm praying for all of you.
