SAN ANGELO H.C. (Buster) Luckett, 89, was taken by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. Graveside service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, in Fairmount Cemetery with Chaplain Domingo Lopez of Gentiva Hospice. H.C. was born to Herbert and Cora Luckett on June 26, 1925, in Petty, Texas. He was his Mama's pride and joy who was next to the youngest of his three sisters. He drove trucks since the age of 14. He served 30 1/2 years in the San Angelo Fire Department, from 1945 to 1975, as a driver and as an awesome cook. He was the Deacon many years ago at the Baptist Temple Church on 14th Street. H.C. married Betty Bishop on Dec. 31, 1981, in San Angelo. They traveled a lot together to Ruidoso, New Mexico to gamble, see the horse races and enjoy the cool weather and beautiful mountains. He also loved to hunt elk every year in Colorado. In his spare time he raised livestock with Betty. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his three sisters, Juanita Hyatt, Irma Cowley and Molly Stokes. He is survived by his wife of over 32 years, Betty Luckett; son Carlton (R.C.) Luckett; and daughter Resie Cook and husband Daryl; grandchildren Shane, Reagan, Little Buster, Jennifer, Brandi, Kody, Trey and wife Kristen and Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; step-children Pam Whaley, Ken Whaley and wife Tarina and Rodney Whaley; and best friend Belle, his beloved Border Collie. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Senior Care of Meadow Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in Belle's name or a favorite
