SAN ANGELO Katy Anderson Harvey went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 7, 2014, at the age of 61, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Lake Brownwood Methodist Church with a visitation to follow in the church's fellowship hall. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral/Sherwood Way. Katy Anderson was born in Coleman, Texas on July 7, 1952, to Alvie and Katherine Anderson. She attended Coleman schools and graduated from Coleman High School in 1972. She worked for Purcell Accounting Firm after graduation and later worked for First Coleman National Bank. In 1975, she married Roy Joe Harvey in Coleman and they lived in Houston for a brief time. In 1975, they purchased The Corner Drug Store in Brownwood and moved to Santa Anna where they lived for 18 years. Their daughter, Lana was born in 1976. In 1993, they moved to Lake Brownwood and owned Winn Pharmacy in Brownwood. They moved to San Angelo in 2011. Katy enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and traveling. She had a passion for plants and pets. She was an active member of Lake Brownwood Methodist Church, where she was the Prayer Chain chairman. She was also an active member of the community in Santa Anna where she was a home room mother and will always be remembered as driving the orange Volkswagen in the parades. After moving to San Angelo, Katy and her husband became members of Sierra Vista Methodist Church of San Angelo. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, David Anderson. Katy is survived by her husband, Roy Joe Harvey; daughter and son-in-law Lana and Kip Humphreys and grandson Landon Joe Humphreys, all of San Angelo; sisters Mary Crosby and JoAnn Anderson of Coleman, Allene Guffey and husband Grady Housenfluke of Abilene and Jean Chacon and husband Chuck of Show Low, Ariz.; brother A.J. Anderson and wife Joan of Brownwood; and very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gaye and Raymond Sewell of San Angelo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to The Walk To End
