SAN ANGELO Jesus R. Leyva, 92, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. Jesus was born to Anastacio Leyva and Refugia Rodriguez Leyva on Sept. 10, 1922, in Jimenez, Mexico. After he immigrated to the United States in January 1955, he remained a long-time resident of San Angelo. He was employed by Santa Fe Atchinson, Topeka Rail Road until 1984 when he retired at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio and Refugia Leyva; four sisters; four brothers; and two sons. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Petra Lira Leyva; daughter Olivia Castro (Rey); sons Jesse Leyva (Ilda), Albert Leyva (Barbara), all of San Angelo and Roger Leyva (Elda) of Pflugerville; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Maria Leyva Villarreal; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home with prayer service following at 7 p.m. Final Home-going service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home with Josue Rodriguez officiating. Final internment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Pallbearers include Antonio Batista, Eric Castro, Aaron Garton, Albert Leyva, Joshua Leyva and Marcus Leyva.
