SAN ANGELO Jinks was born in Miles, Texas, on Nov. 26, 1923, and passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Shannon Memorial Hospital in San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from Miles High School in 1943, then joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and served 19 months in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre as a motor machinist mate third class. After his discharge, he married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Jeschke, on Dec. 9, 1945, at Miles Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber and Covington Tire and then retired in 1989, as owner of Angelo Automotive. Jinks was baptized at an early age at Miles Methodist Church, then he was confirmed and attended Trinity Lutheran Church as a active member since 1950. As an avid golfer, he spent many retirement days playing with his friends at Riverside Golf Course. He was preceded in death by his parents, Flernoy and Myrtle Cain Hart; his beloved daughter, Jo Anne Hart Scholze; two brothers, Stacy and Lewis; and four sisters, Leo Nation, Florine Lagow, Hallie Stillwagon and Polly Vandergriff. He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys, of 67 years; son-in-law Terry Scholze; granddaughter Sarah and Lamar Wallace; grandson Steven Scholze; great-grandchildren William Wallace, Maxwell Wallace, Allie Scholze, Mia Scholze; and his sister, Imelda and Shorty Granzin. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Mr. Hart's funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church with pastors Bob Budewig and Randall Wehmeyer officiating with interment to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Steven Scholze, Ken Granzin, Gene Schkade, David Penick, Don Brosig and Roy Vick. Memorials may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, 3536 YMCA Drive, San Angelo, Texas 76904.
