SAN ANGELO Thomas Ray Moulton threw out his final cast on Saturday, April 6, 2013, following a two and a half year courageous battle with cancer. Viewing will be all day Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way. Tom was born to Louise Peeples Moulton and Wallace "Pete" Moulton on Aug. 9, 1956. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1973 and attended Angelo State University. Tom spent over 30 years as a surveyor of the land. At the time of his death he was on leave from TGC Industries where he was employed as Survey Party Chief. Tom loved nature, being outdoors, and telling stories about his experiences traveling throughout the country from places such as Deadhorse, Alaska to the alligator swamps of Louisiana. One of his favorite things in life was fishing, never leaving home without his tackle box and pole in the back of his truck and always in search of a great place to fish. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Slim and Emma Peeples and Joe and Ella Moulton Dixon; his daddy, Pete; his brother, Joe; and his niece, Tammy. Left to cherish their memories with Tom are his mother, Louise; his daughter, Jessica Barrera and husband Matt; sisters Brenda King and husband Tommy and Dedra Carter and husband J.D.; granddaughters Victoria, Marix and Vivienne; several nieces, nephews and many friends. The family and Tom would like to thank those who took care of him during his journey, his chemo nurse, Norma, who he loved to pull pranks on to keep her on her toes, Tiffany at Dr. Cummings' office and Hospice of San Angelo for taking such good care of him in his last three weeks of life, especially Tracy, Brad, Jenni and Debbie. Don't be sad for me, I've had a full life. I know the fish will be biting! "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith," 2 Timothy 4:7.
