SAN ANGELO Evelyn Irene Leonard winged her way to her celestial home and Heavenly Father on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013. After years of struggle with cancer, her body gave up, but her mind was strong and clear until the last day. She was born in Deerpark, Wash., to Josephine and Henry Clancy on July 13, 1926. She bids farewell to her brother, Alvin Clancy; sons Clifford Pierce and Raymond Joseph Pierce (Carol); and daughter Sharon Jensen (Keith); along with nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Evelyn lived in Washington, Wisconsin, Colorado but 50 years in California until she moved to San Angelo, Texas, last year to be with son Joe and Carol. Most of her professional life was as a realtor and property investor. On her 85th birthday she was dancing in the hot tub on board a cruise ship with her children while the band played. She loved travel and has such a zest for life. Her kindness, compassion and love will be cherished. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Johnson's Funeral Home.
