SAN ANGELO Charity "Ann" Stephenson passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, after many years of battling health issues. She pulled through countless times and was the rock of her family. She touched the lives of so many and kept a very large family connected by organizing annual reunions. She was amazingly artistic and had a special love for animals which lead to the "adoption" of many "critters" in need, especially the fostering of baby deer. Ann was known far and wide for her elaborate Christmas decorations, which included an upside down Christmas tree, 20 ft. tumbleweed snowmen and Santa driving a classic car or even a rocket. Ann raised a loving family and enjoyed memorable weekends with the grandkids. Ann was born in San Angelo, Texas, on Dec. 15, 1953, to Bud and Betty Neeley. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Jason Neeley. Survivors include her husband "in training" of 40 years, Marvin "Steve" Stephenson; daughters Sharida Kross and husband Adrian and Kimberly Stephenson; and her grandchildren, Jaden and Ian, who were the loves of her life. Ann is survived by siblings Mike Neeley and wife Vonda, Angie Williams and husband Mike, Robey Neeley, Debra Theesfield and husband Roddy; and sister-in-law Charlotte Erny and husband Paul. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be all day Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home located at 1939 Sherwood Way. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, in the funeral home chapel. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
