Dear Children of Dorothy, I had the privilege of volunteering with Dorothy at the hospital for many years. A number of us continued to get together even after we stopped volunteering and Dorothy was always such a wonderful, warm and special friend to each of us. I actually began just around the time she became a grandma. I can tell you that her grandchildren were beyond doubt the joy of her life. We all enjoyed them with her. She was a very special lady and we all were honored to know her.

Dear Shirley, Roger, Barb, Rod, Anna, Abby, and Lydia,

It was my honor and privilege to know and to care for Dorothy when I became her caregiver and friend over a year ago. Dorothy warmed my heart and touched my life in so many ways. Even though I was there to help and care for her, she helped and cared for me; reminding me to slow down, cherish and enjoy the simple treasures in life; prayers shared, meals together mixed with endearing conversations, coffee and sweets with friends, walks together out in God's beautiful outdoors, giving and receiving cards from friends near and far, kind words to a struggling neighbor, new places to explore and challenges to overcome. She pressed her love deep into each of our hearts as she selflessly gave of herself to be a blessing to all who came into her life.

It's been a priceless experience getting to know Dorothy and each of her dear, sweet family members. As I watched and observed her relationships with each of you, I could see the great love she had for her family. The tender, patient and loving care you each gave her in return blessed my life immeasurably.

Even though she will be deeply missed by all of us, I hope you can find comfort in knowing that today; she is in the arms of her Lord and Savior. My prayers will continue and my thoughts will remain with you in your time of heartache.

Your friend, Tamela

I never had the opportunity to know this precious person; however, I'm sure she had a beautiful heart, mind, and spirit. I've seen it live on her daughter. I am hoping your family is finding peace of mind about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
