Gregory Donald Combs, 54, died, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, on the family farm in Williamstown after a brief illness.
While Greg had a variety of professions during his lifetime including working as a mechanic and on the railroad, his true love was the farm where he and his father Donald Ray Combs produced tobacco and vegetables for several decades.
As a youngster on the farm he and his father trapped the creeks in the area, selling the pelts for spending money. Always of an adventurous spirit, he and his father also traveled the south for a time, where Greg planted over 1,000,000 trees while camping in the pristine and seldom traveled woods located there.
He enjoyed relating stories of his travels, and of the people he met along the way.
Survivors include his parents, Donald Ray Combs and Vivian Lee Combs; a sister, Patty Beth Combs (Bialik), a brother-in-law, Jim Bialik; uncles, Winston Combs and John Combs; a cousin, Larry Combs; a nephew, Joshua Bialik and a niece, Sarah Bialik.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
