Ray E. Sechrest, 95, of Williamstown, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood.
On October 1, 1945, Ray Sechrest founded the Sechrest Garage and Co. Inc. in Williamstown. Ray was a former member and chairman of the Williamstown Board of Education. He was a member and deacon of the Williamstown Christian Church, a member of the Kentucky Manufactured Housing Association, a member of the Towing Recovery Association of Kentucky, a volunteer at the Oneida Baptist Institute in Oneida, a past master and 60 year member of the Grant Lodge #85 F. & A.M., a member of the Oleika Shrine Temple and the Indra Consistory of the Scottish Rite in Covington.
Ray was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 44 years, Irene Gordon in 1982. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde C. "Pete" Sechrest, Harold Lee Sechrest, and a grandson, Brian Keith Sechrest.
Survivors include his sons, Donald Ray (Marcia) Sechrest of Williamstown and Ronald E. (Lori) Sechrest of Dickson; a daughter, Mary Ann (Jerry) Neal of Florence; a sister, Edna Ruth (Donald) Wallace of Williamstown; a granddaughter, three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on March 10 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.
Burial was in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
