Anita Mae Carnes, 58, of Mt. Zion, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.
She was the owner/operator of The Country Store in Mt. Zion. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a former secretary for the Grant County High School, formerly worked for the L & N Railroad and Farm Credit and was an active with the Grant County Relay for Life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ailene Sparks Carnes.
Survivors include a daughter, Courtney (Marc) Wenning of Independence a grandson, Aiden Wenning of Independence; her father, William B. Carnes of Mt. Zion; brothers, Bruce (Pam) Carnes and Douglas Carnes, both of Mt. Zion; sisters, Charlotte Henley of Frankfort, Brenda (Don) Elliott of Mt. Zion and Becky (Bill) Coldiron of Crittenden.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 with funeral services being held at 1 p.m. on May 24 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Aiden Carnes Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.
