Clifford James Webster, 92, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Dry Ridge, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
He was born in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 4, 1920 and was the son of the late Emanuel Orsemus Webster and Phoebe Belle Clifford Webster.
He was a graduate of Dry Ridge High School (Class of 1937), Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky.
He was employed as an industrial chemist by Chemstrand Corp. (later Monsanto Co.) in Pensacola, Fla. and Decatur, Ala., prior to retirement in 1982. He was an active member of the American Chemical Society for 53 years.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Signal Corps and served in the Southwest Pacific in World War II, as well as at Ft. Monmouth, N.J., during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Hanson Vice Webster. Survivors include his daughters, Deborah K. Webster of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Marcia J. Reese (Charles A.) of Pensacola, Fla. and grandchildren, Susannah N. Reese (Ethan Chessin) of Portland, Ore. and Tyler Webster Reese of
Hattiesburg, Miss.
Burial was in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
