Dena Mary Cole, 87, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1930 in Dry Ridge to Leonard and Myrtle (Lawrence) Fisk. She graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1948 and later worked as a bookkeeper for Marshall Brass. After a few years, Dena made the decision to stay at home to raise her family. She married William L. Midgett in 1951 at her uncle and aunt's residence in Marshall. They had two children and spent 25 loving years together, before his passing in 1976.
She is survived by her sons, Chuck (Tracy Dorstewitz) Midgett of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Jim (Mary Jane) Midgett of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, Emily Midgett of Kalamazoo and Alex Midgett of Kalamazoo; a brother, Leonard (Bonnie) Fisk of Kentucky and a nephew, Len Fisk of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Midgett and second husband Phillip Cole; parents, Leonard and Myrtle Fisk and a grandson, Brad Midgett.
A private family burial will take place in Oakridge Cemetery at a later date.
The family is being served by the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes, 723 US 27 North, Marshall Chapel.
