Janet F. Caldwell Longbons, 76, a longtime resident of Crescent Springs, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at her residence following a long illness.
A native of Williamstown, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Della Bennett Caldwell.
She was a 1959 graduate of Williamstown High School, attended Georgetown College and graduated from the University of Kentucky.
She enjoyed a 33-year career as a public schools elementary teacher in Boone County and with the German bilingual program at Fairview Elementary School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a former model and taught modeling at the Galloway Modeling School in Cincinnati. She also helped her son part-time at Action Computer in Northern Kentucky.
She was an ice skater and past board member and treasurer of the Queen City Figure Skating Club, which she received the prestigious Churchill and Meiss award for volunteering a tremendous amount of service to the club over a period of many years. She was also a member of the Florence Baptist Temple.
Survivors include a son, Chad Longbons of Crescent Springs; a daughter, Michelle (Kenny) Marhoffer of Wooster, Ohio; her faithful companion, Richard Longbons of Crescent Springs; a brother, Larry R. Caldwell of Florence; a sister, Brenda C. Stanley of Williamstown and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services were held Nov. 7 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, by Rev. Wayne Cox.
Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell.
Memorials are suggested to Gideons International or to Florence Baptist Temple.
