Joseph Richard Arnold, Jr., 67, husband of Mary E. Arnold, died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Grant County and was the son of the late Joseph Richard, Sr. and Wanda Mae Moore Arnold.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart Medal after being wounded in service. He was a former mechanic with Gordon's Garage in Dry Ridge. He was a 1969 graduate of Williamstown High School and he was the very first graduate to receive a diploma from the current WHS.
On May 15, 1981 he married the former Mary Elizabeth Robinson in Dry Ridge, KY; she survives.
Survivors, in addition to his wife include, a daughter, Lisa (Ernie) Carter of Williamstown; a sister, Kathy (Ed) Arnold of Dry Ridge; three aunts, Helen Mann of Williamstown, Eloise Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana and Ruby Arnold of Dry Ridge; four grandchildren, Sarah (Stanley) Patton, Haley Hester, Jayde Carter and Christian Carter; four great-grandchildren, Carter Patton, Caelyn Patton, Cooper Patton and Jenna Phillips. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Allen Arnold; a brother, Larry Wayne Arnold; a uncle, Robert L. Arnold and a special friend, his Jack Russell dog, "Biscuit".
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at Stanley Funeral Homes in Williamstown. A committal service will be held at noon Friday, April 27 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North in Williamstown with full military honors.
