Edward Blanton, 98, of Leitchfield, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at his home.
He was born March 22, 1919, in Leitchfield, the son of Amos and Mary Dunn Blanton. He was a farmer and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by five daughters, Barbara Davis (Larry), Althea McKinney (Ron) and Vickie Decker (Ronnie), all of Leitchfield, Carolyn Watson of Columbus, Ohio, and Gayle Holland (Thomas) of Woodstock, Ga.; four sons, Roger Blanton (Kathleen), Earl Blanton (Brenda) and Calvin Blanton (Tonya), all of Leitchfield, and Larry Blanton (Tonya) of Hopkinsville; 39 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Fulkerson Blanton; four grandchildren, Kimberly Escue, Chaz Decker, Steve and Neil Blanton; and 11 siblings.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield, with burial in Lile Cemetery.
Visitation is 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
