Jenna Ray Glasscock, 32, of Leitchfield, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017.
She was born on May 18,1985, in Elizabethtown, the daughter of Kenny M. Glasscock and Shelia Ray Tyra.
Jenna was a 2003 graduate of Grayson County High School and she furthered her academic studies at the University of Louisville. She graduated magna cum laude in 2007 as a University Honors Scholar with a bachelor's of science in sociology and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She continued her studies at U of L, graduating third in her class from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, magna cum laude, in 2010.
During law school, Jenna served as secretary and public service chair of the Student Bar Association. She was also was an editor of the University of Louisville Law Review and her writing was published in the University of Louisville Law Review, volume 48.
While serving as president of the law school's Women's Law Caucus, she created a lasting mentoring partnership with the Women Lawyers Association of Jefferson County. She was also one of the first law students to work as a student attorney at the University of Louisville Law Clinic.
She was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and was a past assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the 46th Judicial District, which includes Breckinridge, Grayson, and Meade Counties.
Jenna was an advocate for women and children. In 2010, she was instrumental in bringing Tri-County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to Grayson County.
Jenna was a member of the family at Pine View Nursery where she extended her love for the art of landscaping and gardening.
She was a beautiful, brilliant soul, who loved spending time with her siblings, listening to music, enjoying concerts and being outside in the sunshine by the pool.
Jenna is survived by her loving parents Kenny M. and Diana R. Glasscock, and Shelia Ray Tyra and Terry Tyra, all of Leitchfield; her three sisters, Shelbi Tyra and Brooklyn Glasscock, of Leitchfield, and Jordan Tyra (Antonio) of Louisville; her brothers, Tanner Tyra and Morgan D. Glasscock of Leitchfield, and Nick Tyra of Louisville; her grandparents, Claudia Bowman, Irene Ray, and James Ray, all of Leitchfield; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, C.E. Glasscock Sr.
A private memorial service was held for family.
