William Robert Simms, 74, of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1943, in Marion County, the son of the late Ado and Mary Mattingly Simms.
He was a diesel truck mechanic and repairman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of McGrew Memorial Baptist Church in Anneta.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Simms of Leitchfield; children Sherry Simms (Paul) of English, Ind., Lisa Whitte (Shawn) of Irvington, William Simms (Angie) of Mount Washington, and Patty Hanifen (Kim) of Louisville; 10 grandchildren; six geat-grandchildren; and seven siblings, J.A. (Edna), Gerald (Polly), Joyce (John), Shirley, Bonnie (David), Naomi and Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Simms.
A celebration of life service is 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at McGrew Memorial Baptist Church.
Receiving of friends is from 6 p.m. until time of services Friday at the church.
