Arthur "Archie" Paul Villarreal
Great Falls —Arthur "Archie" Paul Villarreal, 66, of Great Falls, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his daughter's home surrounded by family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Healers House, 2212 Central Ave W, Great Falls. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Archie was born on January 29, 1947 in Great Falls, Montana to Rose Villarreal and Clarence Jarvey. He went to Job Corps before joining the Army. He became a math teacher, graduating from UGF. He loved education, completing his Master's degree before becoming a principal.
He married Janice Walking Child at the Great Falls courthouse on December 1, 1973.
Archie enjoyed Native American ceremonies, Sundance, and Sweat lodge. He loved opening the door to the Catholic Church; he said "It was like opening the door to heaven." He was honored to be a lector to the church. He loved reading and crossword puzzles; he promoted education to all; his door was open to anyone; and he never locked his door.
He had many special nieces and nephews, but a few we would like to mention, Mary Ann (Wilfred) Gladue, Kathy "Kitten" (John) Hubbard, Ursula Ahenakew, and Charles Walking Child who called him dad. Our beloved father, husband, daddy, uncle, brother, and most important "Nampa."
Archie is survived by his wife, Janice; daughters, Casey (Trevor) Sorrell, Tristain (Michael) Knight, Saresa (Justin) Poindexter, Alfreda (Adam) Lucero, and Tiescha Villarreal; son Gervais (Diana) Villarreal; siblings, Albert Gonzales, Raymond John (Linda) Gonzales, Tom (Henny) Villarreal, Tiny (Patzi) Salterain, and Mary Jane Staats; grandchildren Daniel, Trevor Jr., Aiden, John, Clayton, Jeremiah, Josiah, Jaxon, Saresa, Gervais Jr., Mateo, and Justus.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Ann; his father, Clarence Javey; his sisters Delphine McGregor, Delores Minyard, Marlene Villarreal, and Minerva Gonzales; brothers, Baby Bobby Gonzales and Marvin Gonzales.

Thank you for the Beautiful Memories, the fun we had as children, with our Momma, She was there to Greet you as you met your Maker and your prayer was answered as Jesus welcomed you home. I wish I had something magical to take your sorrow and pain away. I know how much you loved your father and what he meant to you. It feels so empty and yet I know he is here with us. May God bring peace to all who has suffered from this great loss. Janice, I am so sorry I do know how much love you shared. God bless you and your children. Tiny

I can remember beong a little girl and dangling from your arms, at family gatherings... Listening to you talk about choices we all make, to me you were so easy going- and at times you answered a question with a question. You gave me a spirit with our Native Culture- a voice and accountabilty- reminding me of how important I am. I love you Uncle- I know you're with family now- and I thank you for the small parts we shared. Do me a favor will you- kiss my mom for me, and tell her I love her, when you get together.
