Steven Inabnit Obituary

WHITEFISH - Steven Dale Inabnit, 55, died of natural causes June 6 at his home in Whitefish.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at his home, 540 W. 9th St., in Whitefish.
Steven was born Aug. 22, 1953, in Conrad, Mont. He graduated from Conrad High School in 1971 and later from Helena Vo-Tech.
He then worked with computers for a large bank. After deciding that office life wasn't for him, he pursued a career in the plumbing field, where he found much success. He owned and operated Big Mountain Plumbing in Whitefish for more than 25 years. In addition to running a full-time business, he also raised twin sons, who worked in the business with him while they attended high school and college.
In addition to work, Steve enjoyed everything that Montana has to offer, including camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, rafting, rock hounding, remodeling his home, and spending time with family, especially with his two new grandchildren.
He is survived by his parents, Dale and Mary Ann Inabnit of Conrad; sons Josh and his wife Mary of
Missoula with granddaughter Grace; Jeremy and his wife Saxon of Missoula with grandson Tyler; brothers Gordon and his wife Helen of Rudyard and Dan and his wife Debbie of Valier; sisters Janet King of Valier, Donna Hilliard and her husband Bill of Havre and Lorna Kovatch and her husband Kenny of Ovando; ex-wife and friend Maureen Widhalm of Missoula; and numerous friends, nieces and nephews.

Oh Brother of Mine

He is our brother, like no other, unique in every way.
His smile, his laugh would romance life to go his way.
He was always there, even with his long hair to help me on my way.
He paddled down stream for it was his dream and it took all his cares away.

I know they are sad, but he really loved his Mom and Dad and would have it no other way. Then there was Moe, he loved you I know, for the boys you both cared for and raised.

Hot tub and cold box, away we would go, sometimes this was quite a show.
Many vacation were at my Brother’s Station. Water fights and fireworks at night, it was always hard to drive away, but in my heart I always knew memories of family always grew.

Oh Brother Steve, our memories live on, I will hold them close to my heart because they were so fond.

I will miss you my friend and Brother.

With Love, Your Little Brother Gordon

Not often that a man can reach beyond the world as we know it and touch the lives and hearts of those he merely spoke with. Everything he did was magic and blessed us all with his loving spirit and view of life. He challenged us to explore deep within ourselves to bring out the best we have. His light shines down on us from the heavens now continuing to inspire us all. There was no friend in the world like him.
