CHOTEAU - Arthur Lee "Art" Torgerson, 50, of Choteau, died of cancer Wednesday, April 6, in Choteau.
His memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau, followed by a luncheon. At his request, Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau is handling cremation.
Art was born Aug. 31, 1960, to Norbert (Gene) and Clara Mae Torgerson in Scobey. He attended school in Plentywood, Huntley Project, Helena, Conrad and Choteau before graduating from Choteau High School in 1979. Art spent his professional life working primarily in foods and beverages, with brief stints in oilfield, retail and finally as owner/operator of 300 Wireless in Choteau.
Art was well-known for his big smile, kind heart, jovial nature and ready hugs. He rarely met a person he didn't like, and was always willing to offer a helping hand in whatever way he could. Art was a friend of Bill, a rela-tionship he took very seriously and was very proud of. Although Art had no children of his own, he loved kids and doted on his nieces and nephews, particularly Karli, Kaitlyn, Karissa and Marti.
Survivors include his mother and dad, Al and Clara Mae Pow-ers; his brothers, Dennis and Ken (Kandi) Torgerson; his sisters, Mary Anderson and Connie Powers; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert "Gene" Torgerson; and his brother, Fred Powers.
Cards may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau; or to Al and Clara Mae Powers of Fairfield.
