Bette H. (Hamilton) Scott, 87, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Sunday, Nov. 18, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Our loving mother left our embrace, held and surrounded by her loving family, as she went on to be with the Lord.
Bette was born Oct. 27, 1925 to Frank and Susan (Jacobs) Hamilton of Belt. Her elementary years were spent in the Belt area, and she attended high school at Great Falls High. In 1942, she married Ralph Brock, and they later divorced.
During World War II, she was an aircraft riveter. After the war, she moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. where she worked as a telephone operator. It was there that she met the love of her life, Lester T. Scott. They married and traveled to various Army bases around the country raising five beautiful children.
Bette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved sharing in the lives of her family and friends and giving advice and guidance when needed. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling whenever the offer came to join in the fun. Her favorite activity was sitting in her lounge chair at home or at the Dearborn cabin while watching out the big windows, visiting with family and friends, and always wanting to know "What's new?"
Bette is survived by her children Mary (Bruce) Mills of Great Falls, Joe (Cindy) Scott of Great Falls, Ken (Adrienne) Scott of St. Ignatius, Leslie Rozett of Great Falls and Mark Scott of Spokane; brother Don (Sharon) Hamilton of Missoula; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lester; sister Virginia Dickman; brother Jim Hamilton; and a great-grandson Bryant.
