Diane Holzhey

MALTA Diane Holzhey, 69, died of natural causes Monday, Oct. 8, at her home in Malta.

A family service is 7 p.m. today at the Kirkwood Funeral Chapel in Malta. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Kirkwood Funeral Home in Malta is handling arrangements.

Diane was born July 15, 1943, in Havre to Aloyisius and Francis (Dobbs) Kolczak. She attended schools in Landusky and Dodson. Diane was united in marriage to Raymond Don Holzhey on Aug. 23, 1959, in Lewistown. They resided at the ranch in south Phillips County, where she helped with the ranching responsibilities, growing vegetable and flower gardens and raising their four children.

Diane enjoyed genealogy, was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the RedHatters, and loved hunting, fishing, her flowers and bowling. She always had a basement full of canned goods and maintained an ample supply of baked goodies. Diane moved to town in 2006 but kept actively involved with activities at the ranch.

Survivors include daughter Janice (Willie) Abrahamson of Malta; son Raymond Eugene (Judy) of Horace, N.D.; and twin sons Sherman Von and Stacy Ron (Stephenie) of south Phillips County. Diane is survived by seven grandchildren, J.R., Logan, Mary, Grace, Frank, Cliff (Cindi) and Clint; and one great grandson Corvin. She is survived by brothers Ralph of Tucson, Ariz., and Pete of Landusky; sisters Anita Clouse of Mammoth, Ariz., and Evelyn Cecil of Spokane; and sister-in-law Marda (Jay) Southwick of Malta.

She was preceded in death by husband, Don Holzhey on Dec. 29, 2000; brothers Tom, Jerry, John and Richard; infant sister Pearl; and sister Ruth Bailey.
