Mary J. Corr, 103, a longtime resident of Black Eagle and Great Falls, died of natural causes Saturday, March 30, at a local rest home.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mary was born Oct. 31, 1909, in Butte, and attended local schools. On April 17, 1927, she married Walter J. Corr, and they moved to Black Eagle. Her husband, a long time employee of the A.C.M. Co., died in 1960 at the age of 57.
She was a member of the Black Eagle Home Demonstration Club, the Pioneer Club, and the Croatian Fraternal Union. For several years she worked as a salad maker at 3-D International Club in Black Eagle. Her favorite past time was playing bingo.
In 1971, after having lived in Black Eagle for 44 years, she moved to Great Falls to help her widower son raise his two adopted children, ages 7 and 10. When her son remarried in 1975, she moved to Sunshine Village in Great Falls.
Mary is survived by her daughters Pauline (Bill) Vik of Great Falls and Jo Anne (Wayne) Alden of McGregor, Minn.; granddaughters Paula (Kevin) Hruska of Great Falls, Jody (Brad) Clawson of Pittsburgh, Pa., Janell (Scott) Sherr of San Francisco and Brooke Corr of Missoula; grandsons Gary (Dayna) Vik of Great Falls and David Corr of Denver; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Corr; son James Corr, brothers Paul Barick and George (Botch) Barick; and sisters Helen Muretich and Ann Kramer. Her mother, Josephine Barick died in 1975.
