Michael William Larson

SHELBY Michael William Larson, 62, of Shelby, died of natural causes Saturday, Nov. 3, at the VA Medical Center at Fort Harrison.

A celebration of life is 5-7 p.m. today at the Elks Lodge in Shelby. Big Sky Cremation handled cremation.

A beloved father, son, grandfather and brother, Michael William Larson went to be with The Lord November 3, 2012. He passed peacefully with his family by his side. Michael was born July 30, 1950, in Polson to Gerald and Leona Larson. He resided in Shelby, where he attended Shelby High School. Michael served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1975, when he received an honorable discharge.Michael was owner and operator of Larson Construction for several years, serving Shelby and the surrounding areas. He was an active member with the Elks Club for 16 years, serving one year as the Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of the Jaycees. Michael loved art, collecting tools and old vehicles.

Michael is survived by his mother, Leona Larson; the love of his life, Judy Kerchner; son Douglas (Anna) Larson of Lakeville, Minn.; son Bradley (Erin) Larson of Chugiak, Alaska; daughter Amy Larson of Houston; sisters Charlotte (Tenny) Doney, Judy (Dave) Dunk, Lila (Lee) Scholl, Cindy (Dale) Doane and Tina (John) Hagman; brothers Jerry (Nyla) Larson and Jim (Bridget) Larson; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Gerald; brother David; sister Kathy; and niece Sofie.
