Mildred "Millie" Mader, 81, died of complications from COPD on Saturday, Dec. 29, at her home.
No immediate services are planned. Cremation has taken placed under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mildred was born Jan. 12, 1931, to George and Leona Whitaker in Great Falls. She grew up on the family homestead in Monarch and attended school in Belt. She had nine brothers and sisters.
Millie moved to Great Falls in 1949 after marrying her husband, Leo W. Mader. She went on to have two sons and was a full-time homemaker. Her heart's passion was her family and helping to raise all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Jan) Mader and Scott (Bernadette) Mader, both of Great Falls; grandchildren, Carrie (Jason) Matthews of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jessica Waters of Columbus, Ga., Kristin (Brian) Brodzinski of Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Kimberly Mader of Missoula, Calvin Mader and Katie Mader, both of Great Falls; and great-grandchildren, Tayettin Brodzinski and Broedynn Brodzinski of Shaw Air Force Base, S.C.; siblings, Gene Whitaker, Calvin Whitaker, Esther Miller, Warren Whitaker, Elizabeth Edelbach, Elaine Phillips and Jim Whitaker.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years, Leo Mader; parents, George and Leona Whitaker; sister, Brownie Whitaker; brother, George Whitaker; and grandson, Jason Waters.
