Harlowton —Noreen Cole Swanz, 91, formerly of Harlowton, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in Beartooth Healthcare in Columbus, MT of natural causes. She was born January 7, 1923 in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Clarence and Thelma Thibadeau. The family moved to Montana settling in Deer Lodge where she attended school with her beloved sisters Jeanne and Pat. After graduation from high school in 1941 she worked as an officer in the Continental National Bank. She was united in marriage to Don Swanz in 1944 while he was in the service. They lived in Missoula after the war while he finished his business degree from the University of Missoula.

Don and Noreen moved back to Harlowton where he managed the Graves Hotel and she raised four boys. Noreen was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Women's Club and a life member of the The Sons and Daughters of the Pioneers. Noreen loved music and she sang in the Federated Church choir, the Women's Club and the Kiwanis Minstrels Show for many years.

Noreen is survived by sons Don (Cathie) Swanz of Kingman, AZ, David of Billings, MT and Dennis of Bullhead City, AZ; grandchildren Paul, Donald and Lisa; great granddaughter Raina.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, son Duane in 2014, sisters Jeanne and Pat and grandchildren Chris and Justin, all of whom she loved dearly.

Services for Noreen Swanz will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Perkins Chapel with interment to follow in the Harlowton Cemetery. The Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
