Reid L. Edwards

Reid L. Edwards, 77, of Great Falls, died of injuries from a fall Friday, Jan. 25, at his home.

A celebration of his life is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Chapel Theatre, 1601 2nd Ave N, Great Falls, MT 59405. Cremation has already taken place. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Reid L. Edwards was born on July 18, 1935, in Cardwell. He was raised in the Whitehall/Cardwell area and moved to Great Falls in 1959.

During his years of employment, Reid worked 34 years for Mountain Bell/US West as a lineman and as an outside plant engineer, retiring in 1993. Reid was very active with the Telephone Pioneers, Montana State Fair Board, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and was active with many community events.

Reid's greatest love was his family. Second to his love for his family, was Reid's love for Montana. Reid has touched so many lives and leaves many behind, but his love, compassion and devotion to his family will never be forgotten. Reid was an avid fan of many sports and teams but even more so if one of his beloved children or grandchildren were involved. From hunting and fishing trips with the boys to finding ways to help anyone in need, Reid filled his time helping others and enjoying his family. Words will never express the void that we all are experiencing at this time of loss, but we will all find comfort in knowing Reid passed surrounded by his family and with his loving wife by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bev Edwards of Great Falls; sons, Jim (Lisa) Edwards of Great Falls and Steve Edwards of Great Falls; his daughter, Vicki (Mike) Riska of Missoula; brothers, Phil (Keitha) Edwards and Joe (Jean) Edwards; grandchildren, Jenny (Bret) Forder, Ember (Jody) Briles, Justine (Ryan) Marchion, Reid, Royce, Taylor and Kayci Edwards, Abby and Jace Riska, Alicia, Jessica and Mack Edwards; four great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
