Samantha Lea Price
Samantha "Sam" Lea Price, 34, of Great Falls, a medical coder, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at her home.
A private family service will be held. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home.
Sam was born Dec. 15, 1978, in Great Falls to William and Iris Price. She attended Roosevelt Elementary, Treasure State Academy and graduated from Great Falls High School. She went on to attend Sheridan Community College for two years and Montana State University College of Technology, before graduating from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in health information administration. She then went to work for the Great Falls Clinic, Benefis Professional Associates, Great Falls Surgical Associates and Care Communications in Chicago.
You had to know Sam to love her. She had an infectious laugh, a most beautiful smile, and a crazy sense of humor. Sam could not tell a lie; in her world things were black and white with no shades of gray. Life wasn't easy for Sam, yet she was not afraid to take on new challenges. She showed great tenacity and pride attaining her college degree, and we burst with pride knowing her struggle to get there.
Sam had two dachshunds, Schnitzel and Strudel. They rode roughshod over her life and her home and she loved them as one would love their children. They brought great joy, laughter and comfort to her life.
Sam believed in not being sad when things are over, but to smile and celebrate because they happened. She also loved her brother and shared his sense of humor. She equally loved her sisters each in their own unique and special way. She had a special place in her heart for each of her nieces and nephews. She counted on and loved her Mom and her Dad. There was another special place in Sam's heart for New Jersey. She had joyous vacations and visits there. The other half of her family lived there and she loved her cousins and all her "New Jersey" family dearly.
Oh how we miss you Sam, yet we had to let you go. We will miss you for forever and a day. Rest in peace sammigrl78.
She is survived by her parents, William and Iris Price of Great Falls; sisters Suzette (Les) Sherrard, Erin (Troy) Voeller and Billi (Lance) Broadbent all of Great Falls; brother Brian (Pat) Scott of Glen; grandmother Isabel Price of Watchung, N.J.; nieces Cassie, Nikki, Morgan and Charlotte; and nephews Reese, Christopher and Sawyer.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alfred Price, Billy Bryan and Catherine Bryan.
