Great Falls —Al Strending, 80, passed away Tuesday August 20th, 2013 at Peace Hospice of Montana. A memorial service is planned at the New Apostolic Church at 4421 7th Av N. on Saturday, August 31st at 2 pm. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Al served his country for four years as a member of the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. As a civilian, he spent more than 40 years as a plumbing salesman and estimator, retiring in 2003. Al was also a lay minister for the New Apostolic Church, serving congregations in Great Falls, Idaho Falls, and Belgrade.
Albert loved sports, primarily football. He was a huge Notre Dame fan and started a three generation (and counting) fascination with the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by two sons, Ross and Todd, their wives, Dee and Monica, and five grandchildren: Kristopher, Jessica (Christopher John Hunt), Karissa, Shaun, and Kayla.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith Rossman Strending, who died on March 7th, 2003.
